CAMBRIA (She, Her)
Cambria Strauss-Malcolm founded Woven with a profound belief in the body's innate wisdom and capacity for healing. Drawing from over two decades of experience in movement studies and somatic practices, she brings a unique blend of technical expertise and intuitive understanding to her work. Cambria's approach is deeply rooted in her commitment to creating accessible, trauma-informed spaces where clients can safely explore their relationship with their bodies. Her passion for integrating different healing modalities stems from her own journey of discovering how Structural Integration and somatic therapy can transform not just physical patterns, but entire lives. When she's not in the studio, Cambria dedicates her time to continuing education and community workshops, believing that bodywork education should be available to everyone who seeks it.
Cambria’s Journey
As the founder of WOVEN, I guide clients toward deeper body awareness and alignment through Structural Integration. My path began at the International Professional School of Bodywork in San Diego, where I learned that healing oneself is essential to helping others. Five years in as a sports and neuromuscular massage therapist, I noticed a pattern: while clients left satisfied, their issues often persisted. This observation led me to study Structural Integration under Edward Mopin, one of Ida Rolf's earliest students. His emphasis on somatic emotional awareness and developmental kinesiology transformed my approach and provided the answers I sought.
The impact on my own body was profound. Previously plagued by daily pain and numbness from long hours of bodywork, I gained a deep understanding of how to work with my body rather than against it. This work gave me the tools to prevent pain and pursue new physical challenges, shifting my relationship with bodywork from necessity to choice.
Seeking to deepen my anatomical understanding, I trained with Tom Myers in the Anatomy Trains Structural Integration program. Myers' work, combined with Mopin's emphasis on emotional experience, illuminated new perspectives on fascial connections. My second series with an ATSI practitioner further refined my body awareness, teaching me to view pain not as a burden but as valuable bodily communication.
My commitment to client care extends beyond Structural Integration. I've pursued extensive movement education, including:
Rolfing 10 series program Ed Mopin at IPSB San Diego
Anatomy Trains Structural Integration certificate
Neurokinetic Therapy certifications (Levels 1 & 2) with Dr. Kathy Dooley
Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization with Dr. Kolar
Anatomy Trains cadaver dissection
Health and Life Coaching certification (iPec)
Student of Visionary Cranial Sacral Therapy at the Milne Institute
14 years of yoga and movement practices
Restorative and Bodyreading studies with Katonah Yoga @ the Studio NYC
At Woven, my mission isn't to "fix" people—it's to facilitate a healthier relationship between body and self, allowing your authentic form to emerge and create meaningful change in your life.
BECCA (She, Her)
Becca Whistler has always felt a deep connection between movement and emotional wellness. Her interest in bodywork stems from a background in modern dance and yoga, where the body can be used simultaneously as a vessel for self-expression and as a tool for quieting the mind. She brings this interplay of movement, breath, and touch into each session at Woven, creating a comfortable environment so that every client can feel deeply into themselves. Becca holds a degree Anthropology and is endlessly fascinated by human interaction and connection. She loves observing the variety of experiences brought into each session and finding ways to relate with clients from all walks of life. She believes in empowering her clients to learn more about their bodies by sharing her love of anatomy, oftentimes leading people down paths to healing that they had never considered before.
Becca’s Journey
I grew up practicing modern dance, which naturally led into a yoga practice in my late teens and early 20s. In 2014, I completed my first yoga teacher training at the Ashtanga Yoga Center in Encinitas, California. Even though I thought I was taking great care of my body, I was experiencing pain and injuries that never seemed to heal. I began seeing a massage therapist who helped me immensely and made me realize that as a movement teacher, I had so much to learn about anatomy and biomechanics. This led me to attend massage school myself, graduating from the Bodhi Tree Center for Healing Arts in 2018.
Almost immediately after graduating from massage school, I was introduced to Structural Integration and had the often-described profound experience of going through a Series. Through this, the sticky areas in my pelvis that never seemed to budge were now fluid, and I began to understand movement in a different way. I felt emotionally lighter, yet grounded in my sense of self. I realized that this was truly the work I wanted to do. I started studying with Anatomy Trains, ultimately graduating from their Structural Integration certification program. Through Anatomy Trains I’ve learned to view the body in a holistic way, meaning that every bit affects the whole. It’s given me a lens to view how life’s experiences get written into our tissues, as well as a map to lead people through those experiences. My hope is always to spark curiosity about what the body is trying to tell us, so that we can come out stronger and softer on the other side.
My work is inspired by the pioneering vision of Ida Rolf, Martha Graham's boundary-breaking approach to dance, Katy Bowman’s Nutritious Movement, Kara Duval’s Range, Kat Boehm and Tara Brach’s mindfulness meditation practices, somatic movement, Pilates, the way babies and dogs move, and the life cycle of plants through the seasons. These elements keep my practice playful, creative, and deeply human.
Thank you for sharing this space with me.

Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to your session of healing and transformation. We'll begin by creating a space for you to share your story and discuss what brings you here today. This initial conversation helps shape our approach and ensures we address your specific needs.
Our work starts with focused assessments and breathing observations that illuminate the path forward. Think of our session as a well-choreographed sequence - we'll move systematically between releasing tension, evaluating progress, and integrating changes through purposeful movement.
Throughout our time together, we'll respect your body's inherent wisdom, releasing layers of tension one breath at a time. This methodical approach ensures lasting transformation rather than temporary relief.
Each session concludes with dedicated time for grounding and nervous system regulation. We'll create space for integration, allowing your body to settle into its renewed state of balance. This final phase helps anchor our work, supporting lasting results that continue to develop after our session ends.

Our Structural Integration work is done with underwear or non-restrictive tops and shorts. During analysis we want to be able to see as the skin but want you to feel as comfortable as possible. You will be doing slight movements and walking while we work, so wear clothes that will cover you appropriately. Massage Therapy will be more traditional, using a top sheet and allowing the client to undress to level of their comfort.

Let me explain the therapeutic modalities we use to help clients achieve optimal movement and function:
Structural Integration (Rolfing) systematically releases fascial restrictions through hands-on manipulation combined with guided movement. By working with tension patterns while having clients move specific ways, this approach allows the body's natural healing mechanisms to restore proper structural alignment.
Neurokinetic Therapy (NKT) uses precise muscle testing to identify and correct dysfunctional movement patterns at their neurological source. This helps reprogram compensatory patterns and reactivate inhibited muscles.
Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) taps into developmental movement patterns we naturally acquired as infants. By reestablishing these foundational movement and breathing patterns, we can often resolve persistent structural issues in adults.
Visionary Craniosacral Work, developed by Hugh Milne, combines traditional craniosacral techniques with intuitive awareness and precise attention to the body's subtle rhythms. This gentle approach helps release deep-seated tensions and trauma patterns stored in the nervous system.
Scar tissue work, as pioneered by Sharon Wheeler, addresses adhesions and restrictions through specialized techniques that reorganize scar tissue at multiple layers. This approach helps restore mobility, reduce pain, and improve the appearance of both surgical and trauma-induced scars.
My massage techniques include targeted approaches like trigger point therapy, deep tissue work, Thai massage, myofascial release, joint mobilization, and specialized pre/postnatal care. These complement the other modalities to create comprehensive treatment plans.
